  • Eligibility and Criteria
    • Applicant: Must be a foreigner aged 50 or above
    • Must hold a Non-Immigrant O visa (90 days) and have stayed in Thailand at least 60 days
    • For Non-O and Non-O-A: Monthly income or pension ≥ 65,000 THB for past 12 months, OR deposit + pension ≥ 800,000 THB in past 3 months
    • For Non-O-X: Monthly income or pension ≥ 100,000 THB for past 12 months, OR deposit + pension ≥ 3,000,000 THB in past 3 months
    • Must provide financial documents from Thai banks (e.g., passbook)
    • Must have health insurance covering duration of stay
    • Not allowed to work in Thailand
  • Required Documents for Retirement Visa Application
    • Form TM.86 / TM.87 depending on visa type
    • Passport copy (bio page, entry stamps, extensions, TM.6)
    • One 4×6 cm photo
    • Application fee: 2,000 THB
    • Recent financial documents showing applicant’s name
    • Embassy/consulate certificate confirming monthly income ≥ 65,000 THB
    • Proof of income + deposit ≥ 800,000 THB per year
    • Proof of residence in Thailand (rental contract, house registration, map, utility bills last 3 months)
  • Guidelines After Obtaining Retirement Visa
    • Apply for renewal at least 21 days in advance
    • Holders of visas ≥ 1 year must report every 90 days
    • Report 14 days early or up to 7 days late
    • Failure to report 90 days results in a fine of 2,000–4,000 THB
    • Re-entry restarts the 90-day count from arrival date
    • Single Entry holders must apply for Re-Entry Permit before traveling
  • Financial Requirements for Thai Retirement Visa
    • Minimum deposit 800,000 THB OR monthly income 65,000 THB
    • If combining deposit + income, must ≥ 800,000 THB per year
    • After visa approval, partial withdrawal allowed after 3 months but balance must remain ≥ 400,000 THB
    • Note: Bank account must be in Thailand, income must be certified by embassy or Thai bank, supporting documents required
  • Financial Conditions for Retirement Visa Renewal
    • Maintain 800,000 THB in Thai bank account at least 2 months before application
    • After approval, partial withdrawal allowed after 3 months but balance must remain ≥ 400,000 THB
    • If using income, must be ≥ 65,000 THB/month or ≥ 800,000 THB/year
    • Provide 12-month bank statements and latest update
    • Failure to comply may result in renewal rejection
  • Guidelines for Retirement Visa Holders
    • Report every 90 days (90 Days Report Thailand)
    • Apply for Re-Entry Permit before leaving Thailand
    • Not permitted to work or run businesses in Thailand
